Important update for those attending the CSW - Access will be limited...

This is getting very complicated!

Dear Organizations with pre-registered representatives for CSW56,

Due to the significantly high number of NGO representatives who have pre-registered, and due to the ongoing renovations of the United Nations Headquarters complex which have put a major strain on building facilities and space availability for meetings, NGO access will be extremely limited at official CSW session meetings and events in the North Lawn Building.

Therefore, all official meetings will be webcast. You are welcome to follow these broadcasts live or on demand via the CSW webpage http://www.unwomen.org/csw/csw56/ or the United Nations Webcast at http://www.un.org/webcast/ You can also follow @UN_CSW on Twitter for the latest updates and information before and during the session.

Find out about official side events, room changes, short registration lines, and when to pick up your Special Event Tags. And join the Twitter conversation using #CSW56 to share information about your own events!

Please note: The United Nations grounds pass alone will not be sufficient to gain access to the North Lawn Building, where official CSW meetings will take place. Secondary access passes must also be presented to gain access to the building. One secondary access pass valid for the entire duration of CSW56 session will be given to each organization to be shared among its representatives as long as supplies last. Each organization should decide on one representative who will pick up the secondary access pass at onsite registration.
The actual number of NGO representatives who will be able to take a seat in the conference room will be determined by the capacity of the conference rooms. For the opening in the GA hall, there will be seating for NGOs in the fourth balcony for which special event tags will be distributed at the same time that secondary access passes are. Before arriving at on-site registration at United Nations Headquarters, all participants need to fill out and print an application form for a UN grounds pass which will be available in the organization’s account on CSO net. Participants will be required to show this form at on-site registration in order to obtain a grounds pass.

Please be reminded that the United Nations will not facilitate arrangements, or pay for any costs, such as travel, visa or accommodation expenses, for participants. Such arrangements and costs are the exclusive responsibility of the participants. The United Nations does not charge fees for participation in the Commission on the Status of Women
